Forever Affiliate Review Part 2: What It’s All About
Hi everyone, welcome to part 2 of my Forever Affiliate review.
I thought I would have to wait until February 19th to buy the course, but this morning I found out that the order page is already working, so I went ahead and bought it! 🙂 The price is discounted to $67 for the first week, after which I think it will be raised to $97.
What are the Forever Affiliate OTO’s/Upsells?
Yes it does have upsells, two of them in fact. The second one is actually a discounted (and more limited) version of the first one. Unfortunately I couldn’t get either of them because they’re both out of my price range right now – I didn’t even read the sales pages before I continued with my order, but I printed them so I could summarize them for you.
Forever Affiliate OTO 1
The first OTO or upsell is the Forever Affiliate Coaching Program. Each week for six weeks members will get together in a private mastermind coaching call with Andrew Hansen, who will follow up with you and answer any questions you have.
Andrew will also send you a checklist each week with the most important steps that you must do even if you do nothing else, and you’ll also get his personal email address so you can contact him about anything during those six weeks, and he’ll personally respond.
You’ll also get access to Andrew’s own team of outsourcing staff already trained in the Forever Affiliate method – a niche researcher, a blog creator, content writers, and SEO guys. This is so cool, because you could basically get everything done for you!
Andrew then says that you’ll get 2 hardcore Advanced Content videos each week that contain tweaks to the Forever Affiliate system that can make your $300-$3000/mo sites be $500-$5000 sites, and that can get you those results in 10 days instead of a month.
I’m not happy that he’s not teaching these tweaks in the main course. He says he can’t teach them to thousands of people because they’re techniques that will get diluted in effectiveness if too many people use them, and I guess that’s understandable, but it still galls a bit. 🙁
I shouldn’t be so greedy though, $300-$3000 per month is still very good, and much better than my sites are doing right now!
Next you get 6 interviews with top affiliate marketers that Andrew says he chose because they’re the best at what they do and because they’re the most honest and most down to earth marketers he knows. They are: Andy Murphy, Sara Young, Andreas Kambanis, Jennifer Ledbetter (aka PotPieGirl), Matt Carter, and Alex Miller.
If you don’t know them, Andrew gives descriptions of who they are, what they do, and what they’ll be teaching you. I know of Matt Carter and PotPieGirl, and Sara Young looks familiar.
The next part… wow, this and the part about the Advanced Content videos are really making me wish I could afford the coaching. Andrew says he will teach us 3 strategies for generating the fastest affiliate income ANYONE possibly can, so that we can start generating income in hours. This is so tempting. 🙁
Lastly, Andrew says he will connect you with 10 other people who live near you and have the same level of experience as you, so you can form your own mastermind group and keep each other accountable. I live in Italy, so I’m not actually sure this would be possible for me.
In his recap of what you get he also lists access to the Private Forever Affiliate Forum, which wasn’t mentioned before. If it was, I missed it.
You can get this first OTO for a one time payment of $497, or you can pay in 2 installments of $279. These installments are paid 7 days apart, so I’m not sure how that’s supposed to help. It would make more sense to me if it was a month apart, so people could get paid their salaries in between.
Gosh, this seems so expensive to me but I’m so tempted to get it when I get paid in a few days. I actually don’t know if I’ll still be able to since it’s an OTO (it’s also limited to 300 sales, and some are already taken), but I’ve gone into my browser history and bookmarked the page just in case.
I would have to cancel all my current memberships though, and postpone buying some stuff I was planning to get this month, and I would basically have no budget for anything for the next month. But if it works it will pay off so much in the future, and with those 3 techniques for earning affiliate income fast I would be able to earn money back almost straight away. Plus it’s got a 30 day guarantee.
Gah, I don’t know, I’m so torn! In a few days my grandmother from South Africa is coming to stay with us for a year, and I don’t want to be broke her first month here, I’d like to treat her a bit. I will have to sleep on it.
Lol, that was a good sales letter, I’ve never been so tempted to buy coaching before! 😛
Forever Affiliate OTO 2
The second OTO appears if you decline the first one, and it’s basically a “lite” version of it. It doesn’t include access to Andrew or any of the other experts. It does include:
- the “Comprehensive Weekly Action Checklists”
- REPLAYS of the Marathon Mastermind Webinars
- the bonus Advanced Training Videos
- and the Fast Income Generator Bonus Modules!
Awesome, I might get this one instead! It costs $297 and has the two bonuses I wanted the most. Unfortunately though we don’t get access to Andrew’s outsourcing team. That’s a bummer, I would have liked to get all my content written for me, lol!
UPDATE: It seems when I bought the course before the launch, the sales page of the 2nd OTO was still under construction. Now the OTO 2 does include access to Andrew’s outsourcers, but it’s not quite what I expected… see my reply to Walid’s comment below this post for more details. ~ Priscilla
Andrew says that when the coaching program is finished he’ll be selling the full set of materials for $997. Hmm, I hope it will be limited since he said earlier the effectiveness of these methods will be diluted if thousands of people know them… :/
The first thing we see in the welcome area is a short video intro where Andrew welcomes us to the course and encourages us to get started with Forever Affiliate right away and not put it off.
Underneath that he explains that there are different ways to move through the course, but that we should first watch the overview video so that we can understand the process we’ll be learning and have it in the back of our mind as we learn everything in more detail.
I like this approach – I have done courses before where they didn’t do this, and it can be difficult to follow along or understand why we’re doing something if we can’t see the big picture.
He says that video will also teach us the best way to start the strategies depending on whether we want to start from scratch or use them on existing sites. I’ll probably start on my existing sites, and then try a new one.
Then he gives us an overview of the 3 different phases or modules: initial research, testing & validation, and expansion. Just from these short description I can see his methods are much more thorough than the methods I use, so I’m excited about learning his techniques!
Andrew is also going to give us a bonus presentation of his most profitable niches. When people give away ready made niches I always think they’re going to become super-competitive. But I guess if most people think the same thing, maybe nobody actually uses them! 😛 I’m not going to watch it yet, I’ll go through the course in the order he recommends.
Lol, in the section on getting the most out of the course is quite funny. I’m a procrastinator and I’ve definitely done what he says not to do before. Luckily writing this review will force me to implement everything, because I have a responsibility to my readers to be thorough.
Next he says there are transcripts available, and we can find links to any resources he mentions in the videos on the tools page of our membership area.
Then he has a link to the support desk which is open from Monday to Friday during business hours. The support desk won’t be able to guide us with matters regarding specific sites we made with the course, but Andrew says we won’t need that because he’s designed the Forever Affiliate course to be “nothing omitted”.
Forever Affiliate Theory
Ok, the overview video is actually 3 videos. But before we get to that, Andrew first explains to us why Google traffic is still the best form of traffic for affiliates. This is a relief, I don’t want to have to start using paid traffic! Too complicated for me, and it’s just always seemed so risky.
Overview Video 1: Google Post 2012, And Being A Forever Affiliate
The first video is 20 minutes long. Good news here about search engine traffic post-2012, and it’s something I agree with because I’ve noticed it with some of my sites as well. I’m not getting huge results on my own though, so I’m looking forward to learning his techniques so I can improve their performance.
Then he talks about Google penalties, why a lot of sites got penalized, and how even some sites that didn’t deserve it got penalized. He says he’ll teach us to structure our income so that even if we do everything right and we do still get a penalty, we won’t suffer for it.
Then Andrew tells us the three equally important things affiliates need to make money, and that with just the first two, we will be Google-proof. He talks about different kinds of data here and it gets a bit confusing, be he explains it better on the next slide.
From what I’ve written so far it might seem like getting Google penalties are a big risk, but Andrew says he’s going to be teaching us how to minimize that risk so that we may never be penalized (I’m guessing by showing us how to provide value to our readers and to Google, like I wrote in part 1 of my Forever Affiliate review).
Then Andrew talks about the difference between proven data and guesses or approximations.
Overview Video 2: Authority Sites, Minisites, & Piggybacks
Okay, weird glitch here. Whenever I click on this video (for example to play or pause it), it opens the introduction page from earlier in a new tab. The video does start playing in the original tab though, so I just close the new tab and carry on watching.
It’s very annoying when I want to pause or go back a bit to relisten to something, but I can work around it. Hopefully when it launches on February 19th this will already be fixed.
This video is 25 minutes long. First there’s a quick recap of the previous video. Now we’re going to go more into detail.
First Andrew talks about the three different kinds of sites we can use. I didn’t know what piggybacks meant – apparently it’s when you publish content on web 2.0 sites like Squidoo and Hubpages.
He says we can use all of them, but they all have their own advantages and disadvantages, and there are special ways and times to use each one. Then he goes into more detail for each one.
It’s a bit surprising what his first point is about authority sites – different from what I’ve been hearing everybody else saying – but it makes sense. I love the last advantage he talks about here – very cool!
The role of authority sites in the Forever Affiliate strategy that’s he’s explaining here is so interesting, I can’t wait to learn more about it!
Next is minisites post 2012. What he says here is also different from what I’ve been hearing lately, but not so surprising after what he said about authority sites. Again, it makes sense.
One of the disadvantages for this one is actually more of a perk to me, because I hate link building! 🙂 I also really like the last advantage he mentions.
It’s very interesting what he says in these strategy sessions, and what he says about preparation in the last section is a good idea.
The last section is Piggybacks post 2012. The risk he talks about here is the main reason I never did it before I tried Tiffany Dow’s Squidoo Quick Commission Guide.
I never thought of the disadvantage he mentions here. Lol, it turns out the disadvantage can be an advantage too!
Overview Video 3: Strategic Overview
Oh no, this video has the same glitch that the second one had! *sigh* 🙁
It’s 15 minutes long. In this video Andrew wraps up everything he was talking about in the previous two overview videos and explains to us the overall strategy we’ll be using in the Forever Affiliate course.
I could follow along all the way, but it’s a bit complicated and I had to replay some parts. Might just be because I’m tired though – I stayed up until 2am last night writing the first part of this review, and it’s already almost 1am again! Anyway, he says not to worry if it’s not completely clear to us yet, he’ll be explaining everything in detail in the 3 main modules.
I can’t wait to start on the main part of the course, but it’s late here so it’ll have to wait until tomorrow. See you then! 🙂
